Do catholics pay more attention to saints then to jesus?

Jesus did say he would leave the holy spirit for us.i know catholics use their saints to intercede for them but isnt one of the commandments that we are not to bow down to no image or take a likeness to anything in heaven or below so im confused?Are they going bu their own rightsnous or where is the loop hole?Not trying to offend no one either.
