Question about hiv and aids?

I was wondering if i got infected 7-8 years ago with HIV would i know it by now. The only symptoms i have are recurring yeast infections. Would i be getting sick easier or having immune. Deficiency. Problems by now if i had aids. I am going to the gyno next week but i am freaking out and i m affraid i have aids.
